About Our Destination Wedding Service
A destination wedding is three events and a travel agency wearing a trench coat. There is the welcome gathering, the wedding itself and the farewell brunch, plus flights, transfers, room blocks, legal paperwork and a vendor team you cannot drive to meet. It is wonderful, and it is genuinely harder than a wedding at home.
We plan destination weddings in Mexico, the Caribbean, Italy and Greece, and across US destinations including Napa, Sedona, Aspen, the Florida Keys and Las Vegas. The core of the service is in-country partner vetting: we do not book a vendor we have not spoken to, seen the insurance of, and taken references on. Two planners travel with you and stay for the duration.
What’s Included
- Destination and venue research matched to your budget and legal requirements
- In-country vendor vetting — licence, insurance and three references each
- Guest travel coordination, room blocks and airport transfers
- Multi-day itinerary: welcome event, ceremony, reception and farewell brunch
- Legal and documentation guidance for marrying abroad
- A guest communications site with travel details, dress codes and FAQs
- One scouting trip with your planner before the date
- Two planners on site for the full event period, not just the wedding day
How It Works
We start with the legal question, because some countries require residency and that changes everything. Then destination shortlist, then a scouting trip where we see venues and meet vendors in person. Nine months out the guest communications go live. Six weeks out travel is confirmed. We fly in three days early for load-in.
Frequently Asked Questions
Often yes, per guest — because the guest list self-selects down. But the planning cost is higher and the travel for you and your planners is real. Our destination fee covers two planners on site for the full stay plus one scouting trip, and travel is billed at cost as a separate budget line.
Honestly and early. We recommend a save-the-date at least ten months out with a frank cost estimate, a range of hotel price points in the room block, and a local celebration at home afterwards for anyone who cannot make it. Half our destination clients do the second party and nobody regrets it.
It varies enormously. Italy requires a declaration at the consulate; Mexico requires blood tests and four witnesses; some Caribbean islands need several days of residency. Many couples complete the legal marriage at home and hold a symbolic ceremony at the destination. We will map out both options for your country.
Flights and accommodation for two planners are billed at cost and appear as a separate line on your budget. We fly economy and stay in the guest room block — we are not padding this.
Every destination contract we write includes a force-majeure clause and we insist on wedding insurance. We build a documented contingency for the date, and our date-change protection applies the same way it does at home.
Why Choose Us for Destination Wedding?
We have produced destination weddings since 2012 and we keep a vetted partner list in every region we work. That means when the florist cancels nine days out in a country where you do not speak the language, we already know who else is good and we have their mobile number.
- One accountable team, on site from load-in to load-out
- Free consultation and a written estimate
- Satisfaction guaranteed — or we make it right
